The two parties in Saskatchewan's Legislature are responsible for Saskatchewan's Senior Citizens loss of access to Health Care, Housing, and decreased pension power.
The cause for this is recruitment of over 75,000 immigrants since 2003 by the two parties (NDP & SaskParty). Excessive Immigration is creating the following problems for seniors:
- doubling of rent & property taxes
- loss of access of health care
- lessening of pension value due to inflation
The Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party has recently promised to freeze Immigration into Saskatchewan until the Health Care, Housing, and Education systems in the province have a chance to catch up. Much of the reason for this freeze involves ensuring that Saskatchewan Seniors and Immigrants are not forced into competition with each other for increasingly scarce resources, such as Health Care and Housing.
The Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party is beginning to release portions of their political platform to help improve Saskatchewan Seniors security and quality of life. Some of the promises include:
- Pension Increases: Guaranteed Pensions indexed to avg. Canadian Wage;
- Property Protection: Forbidding Banks & Governments from seizing property;
- Tax Free Status: Over 65 up to one million dollars no tax paid on anything.
All SDAP programs & promises are fully Costed, Affordable, and will not result in any additional taxes for Saskatchewan citizens or business. The SDAP will also pass new Accountability Legislation to ensure that politicians who make promises will have to keep them within one year of Election or be subject to Automatic Recall.
