Farmers Say SaskParty-NDP Programs Just Snake-Oil
10 Sept 2011 - SASKATCHEWAN
The two parties currently running Saskatchewan's Legislature unanimously supported taking the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool away from Sask farmers and giving it to United States commodities speculators under a new name - Vitera. This means Saskatchewan Farmers no longer control the marketing of their crops and production. The SDAP promises to return control of the Wheat Pool (Vitera) back to Farmers - at no cost - and hold legally accountable those involved in destroying the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

Many Saskatchewan farmers are stating that the low level of payments for flooded land currently being offered by the two parties in Saskatchewan's Legislature fall far short of covering actual losses.

A close look at the two current legislative parties compensation for farmers shows no difference in programs over the last 40 years in Saskatchewan. In many ways the new programs are worse & much more harmful to Saskatchewan's small & medium sized farmer. Rural Saskatchewan can't afford four more years of bad government and squabbling in Saskatchewan's Legislature.
