Labour Reform
The Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party fully supports Saskatchewan workers in their requests for pay increases and improved working conditions. This includes both unionized & non-unionized workers - Saskatchewan businesses will be provided with full tax incentives to assure fully covered wage increases.
-
- Guaranteed wage parity with Canada's best wages ( Sask workers are 20% behind on average);
- New Legislation guaranteeing Saskatchewan & Canadian born citizens first right to jobs & promotions in all employment;
- End of Government Wage Incentives for hiring foreign workers;
- New Wage Incentives for businesses hiring Canadian born workers;
- Saskatchewan & Canada born workers get full-time hours where available;
- $18/hour minimum wage - tax free;
- Exemption from paying personal taxes up to $50,000
Because the SDAP's first piece of legislation would be accountability and political recall legislation, SDAP political promises are guaranteed. So unlike the political party that ran the Saskatchewan Legislature from 1993 to 2007, the SDAP will not break their promises.
The SDAP believes Saskatchewan workers should earn more - not less - than other workers across Canada for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the enormous economic contributions Saskatchewan makes to Canada's economy. For decades corporate negotiators have used Saskatchewan's lower cost-of-living, and other excuses as reasons for not paying Saskatchewan workers fair wages. The truth, however, is that Saskatchewan's economic contribution to Canada is ten times larger than any other province in Canada.
No more double talk from those two parties in the Legislature today! - Saskatchewan Workers must come FIRST and increased job security and benefits is what the Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party can bring to Saskatchewan workers; and the SDAP plan is costed, affordable, guaranteed within one year of the November 2015 election - all you have to do is get your fellow workers, friends and family to vote for the Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party in November 2015 and make the change you want and have earned a reality.
The Saskatchewan Democratic Action Party has a plan to improve Saskatchewan Worker's Labour Power. Unlike NDP the false-promises being peddled cleverly to Unions & Workers, the SDAP guarantees to keep political promises and will implement RECALL Legislation to ensure politicians who do not keep their promises within one year of election are removed from office.
Sick of having that self-labeled "left-wing" party pat you on the head?
Tired of listening to the NDP tell you how much they feel for the disaster that is ruining your life while doing absolutely nothing?
We can all put an end to NDP-commiseration by voting for the SDAP in November 2015.
The unreliable NDP record on Labour Legislation is nothing short of terrible. The NDP had fifteen years to make a difference from 1992 to 2007. Due to broken NDP promise and empty promises, the SaskParty was able to do immense damage to Saskatchewan Labour within one year of the 2007 election.
The NDP has made a mess of Saskatchewan's Labour environment. NDP manipulation of Unions in order to foster empty political unrest hurts Saskatchewan workers. Sadly, strikes often result in massive wage loss to Saskatchewan citizens. NDP promoted strikes do not result in better wages, working conditions, or better hours. NDP strikes cost workers weeks and months of wages needed to take care of families and pay the bills. NDP and SaskParty strikes often result in plant closures and loss of work.
Under SDAP government openess and accountability, Saskatchewan citizens and businesses would never lose money on a strike line and both Saskatchewan businesses & Saskatchewan workers would always come out ahead.
The dishonest and deceptive NDP record is clear. Many union members today claim that no party could be worse for organized labour and workers than the NDP. This statement appears to be true for the simple reason the NDP make promises and then break those promises. This makes the NDP untrustworthy. The NDP are dangerous to workers whose livelihood depend on sound government.
Several big NDP promises have left unions in bad positions. A number top SFL and SGEU executives have expressed growing and valid concern about broken NDP promises. One bad effect NDP behavior has left in its wake, is that Saskatchewan Unions spend a lot of money and time on issues, such as Available Hours Legislation, only to be told by the NDP at the end of the day to be quiet about the issue. Unions could have been fighting many other important battles had the NDP been up front on such issues.
